B. Jimenez

Britny Jimenez, a local educator with more than 15 years of experience, was announced as new assistant principal of Concord South Side following a unanimous vote by the Concord School Board on Monday, August 5.

She is being promoted to the position of assistant principal after most recently serving as a literacy coach at Concord Community Schools, a position she has held since August of 2023. She replaces Jenni Sears, who resigned from the assistant principal position in July.

Jimenez previously worked as a classroom teacher at Baugo and Elkhart Community Schools, and as a K-5 district literacy specialist at South Bend Community Schools. Jimenez was selected for her new role in part because of her deep knowledge of literacy, and also because of her commitment to ensuring all students are successful.

“The most important reason for wanting to be in education is knowing what is best for kids and helping them achieve their biggest goals and dreams,” Jimenez said. “I want to be part of Concord because Concord is on a pathway to help all kids be successful.”

Jimenez holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Bethel College, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. She also obtained her English Learners License from Goshen College. She began her teaching career at Elkhart Community Schools in 2008. From 2018-2021, Jimenez worked as a second-grade teacher at Concord South Side Elementary School.

“Mrs. Jimenez has been instrumental in supporting our teachers and our students in her role as literacy coach and we look forward to having her in this new position where she can continue to support South Side students and their families,” said Concord South Side Principal Jennifer Loupee.
