Concord Community Schools is pleased to announce that Bryan Golden has been selected as the next Director of Music.
Golden, who currently serves as Concord’s Associate Director of Bands, was approved for the role by the Concord School Board on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. He will officially assume his new position on July 1, 2025. He will replace Steve Peterson, who will transfer to a new role in the district, effective June 30, 2025.
“We are excited for Mr. Golden to step into this leadership role and continue the tradition of excellence in our Music Department,” said Superintendent Dan Funston. “His deep experience, dedication to our students, and passion for music education make him the ideal person to lead our program forward.”
Golden has been a valued member of the Concord music faculty for many years, helping to shape the program’s success and inspire countless students. His leadership will build on the strong foundation of Concord’s award-winning music program.

"Having been part of this program for many years, I have seen firsthand the passion, dedication, and talent that make Concord -- and the music department in particular -- so special. Golden has served in the music department at Concord for 26 years, currently in the role of Associate Director of Music. Prior to Concord, he served as the assistant band director at Plymouth Community Schools from 1996-1998. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Ball State University, and a master’s degree in music from Southern Oregon University.
As Director of Music, Golden will lead a team of 20 music educators and support staff, guiding Concord’s K-12 music program and supporting student musicians at every level.

Golden and his wife, Lesli, live in Goshen and are the proud parents of Lauren, a 2022 graduate of Concord High School, and Tyler, a current freshman. Lesli Golden is the secretary at Concord MOVE UP Academy.
